Savory Chicken Mini Quiches

Savory Chicken Mini Quiches: The High-Protein Snack That Isn’t a “Sad Meal”

Instruction

Snacks are not always unhealthy and sweet. I do not always have sweet and sugar-laden snacks as my Favourite snacks.

It is one of such recipes that I always cook to my family. I usually make them Savoury Chicken Mini Quiches when I am having guests, when it is a birthday or I just need something decent but not heavy. They are simplistic, hot and never remain on the table.

I like this recipe as it appears to be a bit fancy and at the same time fits well within a healthy routine. It is like a snack with a special taste without having to prepare it complicatedly. The meal is light, filling, and one does not get the feeling of stuffiness after consumption. Meanwhile, it is a very well balanced food. Most importantly, it is very easy, pleasant and really tasty.

Ingredients

The Protein: 2 cups of chopped finely cooked chicken breast.

The Sauce: 1 cup béchamel light sauce (made with skim milk and a tablespoon of nutmeg).

The Veggies: Additives

Dice in and add bell peppers (red and green) in small amounts to add colour and tone, and also fibber. The Base: Whole-wheat pastry bases or a less caloric pastry filo in order to make the crunch less caloric.

Seasoning Salt, black pepper and little bit of garlic powder. Dice and add small amounts of red and green bell peppers to the mixture to enhance the colour, flavour, and fibber content of the dish. Add salt, black pepper, and some garlic powder to the mixture to add flavour to the overall taste.

Such minimal seasonings only enhance the natural flavour of the ingredients without being on top of them.

Next chop half pieces of red and green bell pepper and give them to the mixture. The bell peppers enhance the color and serve to add mild sweetness and also add more fiber in the dish.

The bright vegetables also add a slight sweetness and a pleasant texture. For the base, you can use whole-wheat pastry for a healthier option or choose light filo pastry to reduce calories while still keeping a crisp texture. Finally, season the mixture with salt, black pepper, and a small amount of garlic powder to bring out the natural flavours of the ingredients.

Instructions

Make the Filling: In a bowl, put your shredded chicken with your cut diced peppers.

Take the béchamel sauce and add it to the mixture of chicken and mix it together so that the mixture is coated evenly with the sauce. Prepare: Your pastry shells are to be put in a baking tray (cover them with baking paper to avoid sticking). Place all the shells with the chicken.

Bake: bake in preheated oven at 180 deg C with 15- 20 minutes or until tops are golden brown and bubbles like mine in the pictures. Cool and Serve: It needs to be left to rest 5 minutes and then served to enable the sauce to solidify.

Bake the dish in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15–20 minutes, or until the top becomes golden brown and the sauce begins to bubble. Baking allows the ingredients to cook evenly and helps the flavours blend together.

After removing it from the oven, let the dish rest for about 5 minutes before serving. This short resting time allows the sauce to thicken slightly and set properly, making it easier to serve and improving the overall texture.
